    上海闵行区民办德闳学校成立于2017年,是国内第一所将中国课程与德威教育特色相结合的十二年制民办双语学校。


     德闳学校与德威国际教育集团结成姐妹关系,在严格遵守国家义务制教育相关规定,为中国孩子提供上海义务制教育课程的基础上,引入国际先进的教育理念和教学方法,形成自己独特的国际融合课程体系。德威国际教育集团是一个国际学校大家庭,在亚洲拥有八所国际学校和两所国际高中,其创始校为具有400年悠久历史的英国名校德威公学。作为德闳学校的学术顾问,德威国际教育集团为德闳学校提供包括教师招聘、教师发展、国际课程及海外大学升学指导在内的各种教育资源和专业培训。同时,德闳的学生将有机会参加一系列德威国际教育集团主办的音乐、戏剧、艺术、体育等方面的课外活动。德闳学校的师生均有大量与德威姐妹学校师生交流学习的机会。

     Dehong Chinese International School Shanghai is a Chinese owned school offering a 12- year education to Chinese nationals.


      Dehong is a sister school of the Dulwich College International (DCI) schools and will offer a combined programme comprising the Shanghai compulsory curriculum enhanced with the Dulwich educational philosophy and pedagogy. The Shanghai Education Commission will assess the Shanghai compulsory curriculum, while DCI will act as academic advisors for the other (non- compulsory) aspects, such as co-curricular activities, safeguarding and the school’s pedagogical approach.


   “ Dehong” is made up of the de (德) from dewei (德威) – the Chinese name for Dulwich College International- and the hong (闳) from Rong Hong(容闳), who was the great- grandfather of a co-founder of DCI and the first Chinese-born student to graduate from an American university, Yale. He was a pioneer who made it his life’s work to educate future generations of Chinese students by bringing his experiences of international modernisation to China.


     As part of the DCI family, Dehong students will have the opportunity to collaborate with their peers and benefit from DCI initiatives. These include the DCI University Counselling programme and a diverse range of events. DCI’s University Counselling team are experienced in placing students in US, UK and other top universities around the world, including the Ivy League, Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities. In the past, DCI events have included life stories, lectures and master classes from a Hollywood producer, a Grammy award-winning musician, practitioners from the Royal Shakespeare Company, Michelin Star chefs and an Olympic coach.


    Dulwich College International Schools Team will act as academic advisors to ensure quality and a well-balanced curriculum.  A clear focus on learning is the foundation stone for our six core teacher standards which guide and inform our work with our young people across each age range and developmental phase. They are:
    1.   Knowing Students and How they Learn
DCIS teachers are expected to have insightful and detailed knowledge of the developmental characteristics and learning needs of the children they teach. They also need to have expertise in meeting the wide range of individual learning and pastoral needs of international school children who come from diverse cultural, linguistic and educational backgrounds.
    2.   Plan for and implement effective learning and teaching
DCIS teachers are expected to have current knowledge of the curriculum in the age range they teach. They set high expectations and challenging developmental and learning goals for their students and use a variety of effective learning and teaching strategies, resources and digital technology to support their students in achieving these goals. They encourage their students to be innovative, imaginative, creative and critical thinkers who are able to work well with others.
    3.   Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning and progress
DCIS teachers are knowledgeable and effective users of assessment for supporting learning. They use a range of data measures and assessment strategies to inform their evaluation of students’ progress which enables them to plan for learning and to report accurately and effectively on student progress and to design appropriate intervention and support strategies
    4.   Develop supportive and safe learning environments
DCIS teachers are committed to safeguarding and to promoting the welfare of children and young people. They ensure a secure, stimulating and well managed learning environment that promotes a sense of safety, support and wellbeing.
    5.   Demonstrate International-mindedness and Global Citizenship
DCIS teachers have an appreciation of their own culture as well as openness to the perspectives and beliefs of people from different countries, cultures, religions and languages. They recognise the importance of developing our students to be ethical global citizens.
    6.   Engage Professionally in Learning and with the Community
DCIS teachers participate actively in professional learning and work collaboratively with colleagues to improve their practice. They hold themselves accountable to the highest professional standards in their interactions with colleagues, students and parents.
