Overview: The Upper Senior Parent Communication Officer will be responsible for managing communication between the school and parents of students in the Upper Senior School, ensuring that parents have a clear understanding of the Bilingual curriculum and the school's holistic approach to learning and student development. The Officer monitor the work of tutors, ensuring that they keep parents up to date with students' performance and well-being, and will act as the point of contact with local, provincial and national Chinese education bureaus, completing all necessary administration and paperwork required by the education bureau. The Officer will also support the Head of Upper Senior School in communicating with parents and meeting with the parent committee. Responsibilities: • Act as the primary point of contact for parents of Upper Senior students, providing information about the British curriculum and the school's holistic approach to learning and student development. Anticipating issues with the aim to resolve parent misunderstanding before it occurs. • Line manage the tutors, ensuring that they keep parents up to date with students' performance and wellbeing, and providing guidance on effective communication with parents. • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, addressing any concerns or issues they may have and ensuring that they feel fully supported by the school. • Manage all communication with local, provincial and federal Chinese education bureaus, completing all necessary administration and paperwork required by the education bureau. • Attend meetings and events as required, including parent-teacher conferences, open days and school events, and represent the school in a professional and courteous manner. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communication with parents and education bureaus, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of any developments or changes. • Work closely with the Head of Upper Senior School and other senior staff to ensure that the school's communication strategy is aligned with its overall goals and objectives. • Keep up to date with developments in education and best practices in parent communication, sharing this knowledge with academic tutors and other relevant staff. • Support the Head of Upper Senior School in communicating with parents and meeting with the parent committee. Qualifications and Experience: • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. education, communications, marketing) • Fluent in Chinese and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting • Experience in line managing staff and overseeing administrative processes • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with parents and education bureaus • Strong organisational and team working skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities • An understanding of the British curriculum and the school's holistic approach to learning and student development • A strong commitment to education and the importance of parent communication in supporting student success.
